Continuing Medical Education Credit
Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit is being offered for the 2017 Precision Medicine Symposium through the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson. CME credits will be available for each of the eight scientific presentations during the Symposium from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Please note, CME credit is not available for the Community Outreach Event.
The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson designates this live activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
2017 Precision Medicine Symposium Learning Objectives
- Order appropriate genetic tests for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Interpret their patient's genetic and genomic test results.
- Apply the results of genetic and genomic testing to change patient care.
- Collaborate with genetics professionals to care for patients.
- Identify and develop relevant research questions based on identified clinical needs.
Continuing Pharmacy Education Credit (Afternoon Session on Pharmacogenomics Only)
Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) credit is being offered for the 2017 Precision Medicine Symposium through the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. The Precision Medicine Symposium is designed to local and regional educate health care providers, researchers, and students about the latest research and applications of precision medicine in clinical care. CPE credits will be available for the afternoon session on pharmacogenomics. Attendees who wish to receive CPE credit for the afternoon session must attend all three of the pharmacogenomics presentations from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm. Please note, CPE credit is not available for the morning session on Precision Medicine in the Clinic nor the Community Outreach Event.
The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Pharmacists participating in the entire session and completing the attendance form and post-test will be awarded credit. No partial credit can be awarded.
The Precision Medicine in Pharmacogenomics session has been approved for 2.75 contact hours.
ACPE Program Number: 0003-0000-17-060-L01-P
Please be prepared to provide your NABP e-profile ID and date of birth on the pharmacist attendance form. Credit will be uploaded to the CPE Monitor System within 30 days.
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Describe how and when to order appropriate pharmacogenomic tests for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment
- Describe how to interpret a patient's pharmacogenomic test results
- Explain how to apply results of pharmacogenomic testing to patient care practices
- Identify strategies to collaborate with genetics professionals to care for patients
- Identify gaps in knowledge and clinical needs for pharmacogenomic testing and describe how these clinical needs can be translated into important research questions
